As per the Draft Occpational Safety health and working conditions(Karnataka) rules, 2026, published by the state government of Karnataka, under the notice no. LD 245 LET 2021, Dated 23 January 2026, the rules and regulations dealing with the safety, health and working conditions of the employee will be published for the public to view and circulate to the concerned parties for the prescribed time objecitons and suggestions to the publics of regulations.

Safer workplace: As a result of mandated safety committees and designated safety officers, along with increased workplace accountability, overall workplace safety will improve.
An even greater responsibility to comply will be placed upon employers: Employers will be required to implement more structured compliance systems covering registration, renewals, accident and health record reporting, and digital record keeping.
Overall compliance and operational expenditures will be greater: Expenses targeting the safety infrastructure, PPE, medical tests, and welfare amenities will disproportionately burden MSMEs
A compliance system with a digital priority: Karnataka Labor system will be the primary source for the online compliances such as registration, submissions of returns, reports of accidents, and record keeping.
Worker wellfare and protections will improve: the well being of the employees will improve, in part, as a result of the added protections and health monitoring systems, as well as the regulations on the reporting of accidents, work hours and overtime and time off.
More readiness for inspections: Due to the new regulations, employers and the EHS and HR teams will be required to be more prepared for inspections more often.
Uniform standards: the rules will make uniform the occupational safety and the overall working conditions to be variability.
